Decided to Enable Megadroid Remote Safety Mode
Hi everyone,
Well, after a lot of thought, I’ve decided to make a change to my Default Settings and enable the Remote Safety Mode (RSM) feature.
Enabling this option will allow the Megadroid people to disable Megadroid via their server connection, should they view the current trading conditions as being too risky.
The way I see it, RSM has the potential to reduce the chances of a large loss, at the expense of potentially missing a few profit trades each month.
I didn’t enable this feature previously, because I was of the view that prevention of losses wouldn’t offset the loss of profit trades.
However my trade data is suggesting otherwise. For example this month if I enabled RSM I would have prevented 2 large losses (about 120 pips), and missed 2 profit trades (about 20 pips), and so I would have had a net benefit of around 100 pips.
The current market conditions are extremely volatile, so I don’t expect to get this sort of net benefit every month. Sometimes I might be 20 pips worse off for the month because of RSM, and on other occasions I might get a large loss despite RSM being enabled. The objective is to reduce the magnitude of any drawdowns.
Over the past few months we’ve had above average monthly Megadroid trade counts, and so I don’t think missing a few trades because of RSM will have a big impact. I also think the average volatily of the markets will gradually increase over the next few years, because of increasing large scale electronic trading.
So for all these reasons, I’ve decided to enable RSM on all of my trading accounts.
Hey Richard,
Definitely agree, it may miss a few trades but less likely to hit SL.

I finally received a reply from MD support as to why RSM did not stop trades on my demo: to wit:
Some customers didn’t receive a signal from our servers to stop the trading in time, that’s why robot allowed trading on your trading account. We fixed the problem with RSM on our servers, so you shouldn’t receive the same problem again.
Thanks for the update Aspro.
